Fire and Safety Training Conducted by BOMBA!
Over the course of two days, we had welcomed a team from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) to our office. With the leadership of our Emergency Response Team (ERT), they conducted a comprehensive fire and safety training program for our employees—combining both hands-on practical exercises and classroom-style lectures.
“When the unexpected happens, can we take action ourselves?”
This training served as a powerful reminder of the importance of preparedness, making these two days truly meaningful for all participants.
🔥 Firefighting Techniques: A Realistic Experience Using Fire Hoses
In our outdoor space, we participated in a firefighting simulation that involved live hose training.
Under BOMBA’s expert guidance, we practiced connecting, deploying, operating, and properly stowing fire hoses—just like in a real emergency scene.
We also learned about the mechanisms and proper usage of fire extinguishers through live demonstrations, and everyone had the opportunity to extinguish a controlled fire themselves using an actual extinguisher.
At first, many employees were hesitant to handle the unfamiliar firefighting equipment, but soon their expressions turned serious and focused.
Feeling the strength of the water pressure and the complexity of the equipment firsthand, we gained a deep appreciation for the incredible work done by firefighters on the front lines.
☣ Handling Hazardous Materials: Learning to Manage Invisible Risks
This session focused on how to deal with unseen dangers, such as hazardous material leaks and gas explosions.
We gained a detailed understanding of the types and properties of hazardous substances, potential warning signs, and how to respond during the critical first moments of an incident.
It was a session that tested our emergency judgment and emphasized the importance of knowledge in managing chemical risks.
🧯 Fire Safety Education: Evacuation Basics and Initial Emergency Response
In the final part of the training, we focused on the most crucial actions to take at the onset of a building fire.
With guidance from BOMBA, we conducted a site-wide evacuation drill, reviewing how all staff members should respond in an actual emergency.
This exercise helped us visualize how we would move, communicate, and stay safe under pressure.
We are truly grateful to the BOMBA team for their professionalism, kindness, and clear, thorough instruction throughout the training.
This experience empowered every employee to take responsibility for their own safety and consider how they can help protect others.
Emergencies can happen at any time, in any place.
That’s why having the right knowledge and being prepared is the best way to protect both lives and business continuity.
This training significantly heightened our collective safety awareness.
We will continue to conduct regular drills and reviews to further our mission of building a safe and secure workplace.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone from BOMBA and our ERT for making this training possible!
